    Drinking night term 1 2008

Post by Laughing Man on Thu Nov 27, 2008 12:35 pm

    Hi there again people!

This Friday we are going out, spending money and talking.
    Sounds familiar?

It's a pub crawl of sorts, only with more walking then crawling, hopefully.
As arranged by THE VICE, we are starting at the Student Union building:

Walk up the stairs (or take the lift) to the second floor, the one with the bar, and stuff, and meet us inside on the table near the door, you should recognise us by now, if not, look for the gang of otaku LoL.

I'll be there from about half seven, hopefully, so from then on come along and say hi, join up, get drinks, the usual.

It's a pass for me I'm afraid. Money issues prohibit fun. Lame

What's with the picture? I realise it says 'fuck you' but is it meant to be relevant?

I also have very little money, and will unlikely stay out all night, but drinks are fairly cheap, and the talk is free, so the social aspect is key in this situation.

As for the picture, it's my signature, an obscure reference to Catcher in the Rye, in tandem with my Ghost in a shell complex ^_^
"You can't ever find a place that's nice and peaceful, because there isn't any. You may think there is, but once you get there, when you're not looking, somebody'll sneak up and write 'Fuck you' right under your nose."
I might go back and make the font smaller...meh, never mind I'll make the picture smaller, it's a bit big anyway...

Ahh, ok. I had no idea - having not read Catcher in the Rye or seen Ghost in the Shell. it's quite a nice quote though.

    The picture's not bad either.

Hmm, I dont know if i'll come, how long are we planning to stay out?
As lame as it is, I need to catch a bus back, so I might need to be leaving early.

A few hours, if the night is slow. It is not an obligation to stay out all night. Just an opportunity to relax and chat about where the society is going, and otherwise bond with your fellow members. As it was mentioned before, our sit in the dark society needs it. Smile

There was a very serious accident involving a family friend, which contributed to my absence. Sorry

Sorry to hear that Sad Hope they recover soon.

The night didn't go as well as hoped. Six of us turned up altogether. I - and I'm sure the fearless leaders were as well - had hoped that most of the email recipients would venture outdoors. Sadly not.

Our lost lambs will be getting surprise calls this holiday season. I have not seen a lot of them since freshers' fair and would like to find out why. Fingers crossed for the end of the term meal.

End of term meal? I may need reminding of when that is...I seem to be very busy next week.

Also, the lambs must be shepherded back to the right field!

Social is this Thursday, 18th of December, after the meeting. We are trying to get a booking sorted for Wagamama, but may end up going to a different location based on numbers and price.

Right. I'll be at the meeting, but I will need to know numbers because I have so many invites to things on Thursday it's unreal. So I would like to know how worth it may be for me to go.

Numbers will be apparent at the end of the meeting - whoever is willing, basically. As always, we are hoping for 10-15 and staff.

Hope the night out was a good one and successful! I couldn't make it because I had so many things happening tonight and I wanted to go to all of them for a little while.

We went to New Samsi in the end, and it was an interesting night. Had orders mixed up by the staff, some people tried sushi for the first time, and I think I suggested to jump out of a fake window. Shame you could not join us, but as we said at the freshers' fair, we do not force anyone to participate against their will and ability.

Never heard of New Samsi before. I like Sushi - I think. I like nearly every food ever, so Sushi can't be that bad Very Happy
